Nettie McKone Johnson(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Nettie McKone Johnson, 92, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Nettie was born on September 15, 1921 in Swisher County to George and Mary Ellen McKone. She lived her whole life in Swisher County. She married Floyd Alvin Johnson in May 1938. She was a housewife and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother: George Wesley McKone. She is survived by three sons: Clyde Johnson and wife Marilyn of Happy, Don Johnson of Tulia and Larry Johnson and wife Vera of Tulia, one sister: Mae Brown of Tulia, two brothers: Charles McKone and Alfred McKone, both of Tulia, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
