Dolly Howard(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Dolly Howard, 84, died Monday, July 7, 2008 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2008 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Dolly was born August 24, 1923 in Lubbock Co., Texas to John T. and Amanda Porter Greene. She was baptized at Acuff Baptist Church at the age of 12. She attended Tulia Schools. She married Love Howard, Jr. on January 18, 1942 in Clovis, NM. She owned and operated Dolly’s Restaurant for several years until she retired in 1978. Mr. Howard died April 11, 1991 in Breckenridge, She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Bobby and Julianna Howard of Tulia, Ricky and Libby Howard of Plainview and Rodney and Celeste Howard of Tulia, two sisters and one brother-in-law; Opal and Kenneth McCaslin of Tulia and Becky McCaslin of Tulia, one sister-in-law; Betty Sue Greene of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by 6 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandson; Troy Don Howard. Memorials may be made to the Swisher Co. Meals on Wheels or to the Tulia Cemetery Association.
