Jimmie Cecil (Plainview)

Jimmie Cecil, 61, of Edmonson, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2008, in Edmonson, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Services are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Cecil was born on May 28, 1947, in Plainview, Texas to Calvin Curtis and Syble Gertrude Cecil. He has lived in this community for over 40 years and has been farming in the area also. He married Dorothy Walling in Hale County on January 19, 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Edmonson. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Cecil of Edmonson, one daughter, Tamron Thompson of Longview, two sons, Kamron Cecil of Dianna and Rowdy Boggs of Amarillo, two brothers, Landria Cecil of Mt. Pleasant and Doug Cecil of Friona and three grandchildren, Alyssa Templain Thompson of Longview, Justin Templain of Beaumont and Logan Boggs of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Curtis & Syble Pool Cecil. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Rd. Ste. C, Plainview, TX 79072.
