Georgia Vineyard, 94, of Kress, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Plainview Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Kress with Rev. Bill Fuller, pastor of First Baptist Church in Panhandle, officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Vineyard was born February 17, 1911 in Glen Rose to Thomas Benton and Fannie Weaks Parmer. Mrs. Vineyard attended a small country school in Scurry County and later moved to Hermleigh where she met and married Ronald Vineyard and they were married May 1, 1925 and moved to Kress area in 1926. After Mr. Vineyard passed away, June 17, 1983, she moved from the farm to Kress. She is a member of WMU, Golden Circle Sunday School Class, Kress Study Club, First Baptist Church of Kress, and having the distinction of being a member more years than anyone else. She is survived by three sons, Leon Vineyard and his wife Mary Nell, Ben Vineyard and his wife Doris, Melvin Vineyard, all of Kress; eleven Grandchildren, nineteen Great Grandchildren, three Great Great Grandchildren.
