Mike Gilbreath (Plainview)

Mike Gilbreath, 63, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 18, 2008 at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Gilbreath was born to Marvin and Juanita Gilbreath on June 11, 1945 in Prescott Arizona. Mike was in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a retired captain in the Plainview Fire Department after 23 years. He then went to work at Hale County Sheriff’s Department as a Bailiff for the 64th District Court for the last ten years. Mike married Carol Stanton on July 19, 1985 in Plainview. Mike was a member of Parkview Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school director, leader of Baptist Men, and served on the building and grounds committee and headed up the RA program. He had received the Lloyd C. Woods Award for his service to the local Boy Scout district. Mike was also a member of the Gideon Ministry, and was active in prison ministry. Survivors include his wife Carol of Plainview; three sons Todd Gilbreath and his wife Debra, Terry Gilbreath and his wife Melody, Richard Mogg and his wife Mandy all of Plainview; a daughter Cheryl Reeves and husband John of Lubbock; a sister Phyllis Beavers of Comanche; a brother-in-law Jim Stanton and his wife Kay of Plainview; six grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Plainview Gideon Camp, P.O.
