Tulia, Texas—David L. Clark, 77, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Reed Redus, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo officiating and Mr. Brent Clark assisting. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. David was born February 9, 1937 in Magic City, Wheeler Co., Texas to William Daly “Dutch” Clark and Rosaline Clark. He grew up in Shamrock and graduated from Shamrock High School. He served in the US Army for two years stationed in Louisiana. He married in 1956 and after his discharge they lived in Amarillo working for the Texas Army National Guard as an Administrative Supply Tech and he obtained the rank of 1st SGT. They moved to Tulia in 1974 with the National Guard and he worked in Plainview. He retired after 20 years and started working for Swisher Electric Co-Op in Tulia for several years before he retired again. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Toastmasters International in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin sisters: Betty Jean Clark and Billie Jo Clark and one daughter: Vera Lynn Clark. He is survived by two daughters: Vicky Patton and husband Sherrol of Tulia and Konnie Washington and husband Bruce of Tulia, one son: Brent Clark and wife Elaine of Amarillo, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
