Pablo E. Gonzalez,  68, of Plainview, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Gerard Kenney officiating and Deacon Arturo Hinojosa assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.A rosary will be held at 6:30P.M. on Sunday evening at the funeral home.Pablo was born on January 15, 1946 to Guadalupe and Delfina González in Crystal City, TX. He married María Del Refugio Ferrer on October 3, 1964 in Plainview.  Mr. González was a retired farmer and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as financial secretary and was a former Grand Knight.  He became a Cursillista in 1963.  He also served on the board of directors for South Plains Health Provider Organization and was a Queens Court Booster for the Flying Queens.Pablo is survived by his wife María González of Plainview; four daughters: Dolores Rodríguez & husband JoeFrank of Plainview; María Lucía Valadez & husband José of Bryan; TX, Marisela Rodríguez & husband Joey of Ft. Worth, TX; and Sonia Mellgren & husband Scott of Anchorage, AK; one son: John González & wife Lupita of Wylie, TX; five brothers: Guadalupe González, Deacon Andy González, Juan Estevan González, María de Jesus González, and José Sanchez; three step sisters: Sgt. Veronica Sanchez, Juanita Sanchez, and Maria Sanchez; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, María Elena Lerma and a brother, Johnny González.Memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus, Council #10310.
