Tulia, Texas—Perry Russell, 63, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Amarillo. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Perry was born October 15, 1950 in Tulia, Texas to Marvin “T” and Inez Russell in Tulia. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1969. He worked for Curry Motor and Brake Co. during high school. He married Peggy Hughes on April 8, 1968 and they were married for 19 years. After high school he attended Texas Tech and West Texas State University. He worked in Austin as an independent painter and then in Midland in the sign painting business before moving to Tulia in 1983. He continued in the sign painting business and moved to San Angelo in 1993. He returned to Tulia in 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother; Jack Russell. He is survived by one daughter; C.J. Chasco & husband Michael of Tulia, two sons; Jason Russell of Tulia and Lane Russell & wife Kristie of Tulia and eight grandchildren.
