Tulia, Texas—Charlie Lee (Cookie Duster) Turner, 65, died Thursday, August 7, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms and Rev. James Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Charlie was born January 16, 1943 in Swisher County. He grew up here and attended Tulia Schools. He married Earnestine Waggoner on September 24, 1963 in Dimmitt. He was a truck driver for 51 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Earnestine Turner of Tulia, three daughters; LaQuita Gardner and husband Danny of Dalhart, Rebecca Mireles and husband John of Lubbock and Keisha Serna and husband Benny of Amarillo, two sons; Dean Turner of Dalhart and Wesley Turner of Amarillo, 16 grandchildren; Natasha Gardner of Amarillo, Candy Gardner and Delwin Gardner of Dalhart, Adrian, Damion and Christopher Serna of Amarillo, Bryson, Alicen, Kreeli and Addyson Turner of Amarillo, Issac, Aaron, Caleb, Josh and Malachi Mireles of Lubbock and 1 great grandchild; Adysen Gardner of Dalhart.
