Fannie J. Reed Ashley, 91, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 13, 2014 after a brief illness. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Fannie was the third of eight children: Lillian, J.W., Warren, Christine, Athern, Francis, Bill (William). She was born to Joseph & Rilla Pierce Reed on February 27, 1923 in Brownfield, Texas. Fannie grew up in the Ralls Community. She married Clois Winfrid Ashley on December 23, 1943. Clois preceded her in death on January 7, 1981. Fannie was a homemaker and a farmers wife. She was a devoted Christian that served her church faithfully. She was a member at Parkview Baptist church. She sold Avon door to door. After Clois’ death Fannie did private care giving in homes & nursing homes. She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers and her great great granddaughter, Addisyn Rae. She leaves behind one sister, Francis Foster and husband Floyd of Kress. One Daughter, Glynda Kay Jordan and husband Earl of Plainview; one son, James Lynn Ashley and wife Denise of Plainview; Four grandchildren, Laura Langston of Plainview, Terri Hatfield of Amarillo, Brian Ashley of Plainview, Dana Burris of Saginaw Texas; five great grandchildren, Kaylyn Langston of Plainview, Ashley Langston of Plainview, Dakota Hatfield of Amarillo, Colton Langston of Plainview, Rainey Hatfield of Amarillo and Blake Burris of Saginaw. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
