Tulia, Texas—Jim Ned Love, 91, died Thursday, June 18, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 23, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Bruce Baird, pastor of Central Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. James S. Love, Jr. was born on August 8, 1922 in Mineral Wells to James S. and Lena Love, Sr. They moved to the Love Community in Swisher County when Jim was very young and he grew up here in Swisher County. He attended schools at Love Community and Tulia. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII as an airplane mechanic for four years. He married Bernice Teakell on February 14, 1953 in Ft. Sumner, NM. He worked for Diamond Shamrock for six years, Civil Service at the air base in Amarillo for five years and then for Love Brothers Oil Co. in Tulia for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Joe Love and Billy Love and two sisters: Mary Gregg and Helen Louise Hooper. He is survived by his wife: Bernice Love of Tulia, one daughter: Mary Ann Davis of Denton, TX, one son: Jim Love and wife Leslie Talent of Soldotna, Alaska, one sister: Eleanor Dirks of Canyon, TX, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
