Sam Coleman (Plainview)

Sam Coleman, 65, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Coleman was born on September 4, 1948 in Plainview, Texas. He married Brenda Stewart on June 7, 1969 in Midland, Texas. Mr. Coleman was raised in Plainview and graduated Plainview High School in 1967. He attended South Plains College. Mr. Coleman was a farmer and had been an independent truck driver for the last 19 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and First Baptist Church. Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife: Brenda Coleman of Plainview; one son: Jim Coleman & wife Selyna of Buckeye, Arizona; one daughter: Tammy Phoenix of Muleshoe, Texas; two brothers: Randy Coleman of Weslaco, Texas and Harlon Coleman of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters: Marilyn McBride of Cisco, Texas and Ronda Parks of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren: Tawnee, Kylee, John, Samantha and Jace. He was preceded in death by one son, John Coleman. Memorials may be made to John Coleman Memorial Scholarship.
