A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Oscar Chavez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. She was born in Tulia, Texas on June 21, 1933, to Thomas Elgin and Gertrude Duke. She lived 55 years of her life on a farm in Tulia. She moved to Amarillo in 1988, worked at Goodwill, attended Jan Werner, and taught a lot of people what’s important in life. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister in law, Mayo & Joyce Duke; brother in law, Gerald Matsler; and nephew Barry Golden. Survivors include sister, Fonda Duke Matsler of Amarillo; nieces Dana Norrell & husband Billy, Dede Webb both of Amarillo, TX, and Kathleen Golden of Holly Springs, NC; one nephew, Dan Mastler & wife Kim of Amarillo, TX; seven great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces and nephews. All were an important part of her family. The family suggest memorials be made to Jan Werner Adult Day Care Memorial Fund, 3108 S. Fillmore, Amarillo, TX 79110.
