Edwin Ray (Plainview)

Edwin Ray, 84, of Plainview, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Plainview Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Genesis Baptist Church with Rev. Leonel Gonzales, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Ray was born January 9, 1921 in Drew County, Arkansas to Tom and Ella Ray. Mr. Ray served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 to1944. He moved to Lockney in 1951 and farmed until he retired in 1990. On June 11, 1998 he married Janie Garcia in Plainview, Texas. He is survived by his wife Janie Ray; eight daughters: Dyann Ramos of Lubbock, Linda Paramo of Plainview, Eunice Marie Ramos of Plainview, Levell Sanchez of Garden City, KS, Rose Marie Bermea of Floydada, Lydia Rodriguez of Odessa, Maria Jimenez of Plainview and Delia Castillo of Minnesota; six sons: Harold Green of Dumas, Edward Green of Garden City, KS, Arnold Bermea, Marcello Bermea and Jesse Bermea all of Minnesota and Ricardo Ramirez of Plainview; 54 Grandchildren and 46 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be made to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road Ste C, Plainview, TX 79072.
