Ms. Brownlee, known to many as MiMi, loved various activities including art, collecting antiques and reading. She spent a large portion of her time volunteering at the High Plains Training Center during the latter part of the 1960’s. She had a special place in her heart for special needs children. MiMi was an active member in Business and Professional Women’s Club and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was very proud of her family heritage and their role as pioneers in the growth of Plainview and Hale County. She felt a personal mission to make sure the story was told. She married Clifton (Clif) Gordon Brownlee who preceded her in death in 1963. Those left to cherish the many sweet memories are two sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Diane Brownlee of Plainview and Darrick and Terri Brownlee of Garden City, Kansas. Six grandchildren, Brandt Brownlee of Ft.Worth; Dustin Brownlee of Brush, Colorado; Brittani Brownlee of Plainview; Braden Brownlee of Odessa; Tyler Brownlee and Katelynn Brownlee of Lubbock; one sister-in-law, Maxine Houlette of Plainview; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, a very special thanks to Accolade Home Health, the doctors and nurses at University Medical Center in Lubbock and Jill Harrell and Rebecca Cross for their assistance, friendship and love.
