Leola Sexton (Tulia)

Happy, Texas—Leola Sexton, 84, died at 9:35 pm Friday, December 23, 2005 in the Bivens Memorial Nursing Home in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 26, 2005 in the Happy Church of Christ with Loran Harper pastor of Comanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mrs. Sexton was born march 11, 1921 in Donley County, Texas. She attended schools at Lelia Lake near Clarendon. She married J. B. Sexton on August 21, 1937. They moved to Happy in the early 1940’s. She was a cashier and officer of Happy 1st State Bank for 36 years. She had lived in Swisher County until 1993 when she moved to Canyon. She was a member of the Happy Church of Christ and the Happy Senior Citizens. Mr. Sexton died October 7, 1984. Survivors include one daughter; Judy Stewart of Sunray, Texas, one son; Larry Sexton of Amarillo, Texas, one sister; Jane Stevens of Happy, Texas, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
