Paul Mark Raymond (Plainview)

Paul Mark Raymond, 57, of Plainview passed away on July 30, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Drew Travis officiating and Rev. David Hawkins assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Paul was born in Tulia on September 21, 1956 to the late Robert (Bob) and Nan Raymond. Paul graduated from Tulia High School in 1975 and received a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics from Texas Tech University in May 1979. He married Debbie Lewis Raymond on June 27, 1987. Paul has farmed in Swisher, Hale, and Castro Counties throughout his life. Paul was a member of the Texas Tech Red Raider Club and the Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Sugar Beet Association. Paul was a proud supporter of Plainview High School Athletics, as well as the Wayland Baptist Flying Queens. Paul was serving as the Democratic Chair for his precinct. He was an elder with the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Raymond of Plainview; three daughters, Rachel Linn and husband Jonathan of Fort Worth, Erika Raymond and David Purcell of Phoenix, and Haley Raymond of Plainview; his brother, Steve Raymond and wife Brenda of Tulia; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Charity of Choice.
