Richard "Riche" Castro (Plainview)

Richard “Riche” Castro, 89, of Lockney passed away on August 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 18, 2014 at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney with Father Pat Maher officiating. Interment will follow in Lockney Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Mr. Castro was born on April 3, 1925 to Juan & Delores Castro in Lytle, Texas. He married Felicita Gonzales on February 10, 1945 in Devine, Texas. He was a mechanic for Maggard Nall Motor Company in Plainview for 20 years. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Men’s Society of San Jose Catholic Church and a hospice volunteer. He loved to sing and tell jokes to his Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Felicita Castro; one daughter: Diana Castro, four brothers and three sisters. Mr. Castro is survived by seven sons: Jose Castro & wife Estella, Juan Castro & wife Carolina, Pedro Castro & wife Mage, Richard Castro, Jr., Frank Castro, Paul Castro and Jesus Castro; six daughters: Cipriana Garcia & husband David, Cathy Rosales & husband Abraham, Gloria Ellis & husband Pete, Irene Leija, Angela Ochoa & husband Joe and Jovita Hernandez & husband Robert; forty grandchildren; ninety three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the San Jose Catholic Church or Hospice Hands of West Texas.
