Bobby Sims (Plainview)

Bobby Sims, 73, of Hale Center, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 19 , 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Bobby was born on February 5, 1941 to Jessie & Ruby Sims in Matador, TX. He grew up in Grandfield, OK. Bobby worked for Texas Department of Transportation as a heavy machinery equipment operator for 28 years. He retired in 2002. Bobby loved camping, cooking out and gambling. Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, Maureen & Melissa Sims; six siblings, JR, Kenneth, Wanda, Marie, Richard and Sally; and his dog, Bugsy. He is survived by one stepson, Todd Walker of Plainview; two brothers, Leon Sims & wife Arlis of Kingsland, TX, and Charles Sims & wife Sharrion of Plainview, TX; one sister in law, Edith Sims of Plainview, TX; two brothers in law, Don Kelley of Fredrick, OK and Mac McClary of Iowa Park, TX; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many nieces and newphews.
