Noel Darwyn "Shot" Hutson (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Noel Darwyn “Shot” Hutson, 70, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at his home in Quincy, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis House and Rev. Rob Lindley, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. He was born January 14, 1935 in Swisher County and grew up here. He was an outstanding football player and was captain of the football team at Tulia High School. He graduated in 1954. He married Frances Pearl Vaughan on May 29, 1954 in Happy, Texas. He worked for Swisher Electric Co-op for 38 years and was a crew chief. He retired in 1999. He was a member of the Texas National Guard for several years. He was a member of the Tulia Booster Club. A member of the First United Methodist Church while in Tulia and was very active with the Youth. He liked to bring joy into everyone’s life that he had contact with. They have many wonderful friends and great memories of Tulia. Tulia is their home. After his retirement they moved to South Fork, Colorado and built a cabin. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. After a life changing illness they moved to Branch County, Michigan in 2003. He had a gift of joy for making people laugh. While in Michigan they were members of the Girard United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 330, Tulia, Texas 79088.Survivors include his wife and best friend, Frances Pearl Hutson of Quincy, Michigan, two daughters; Pandy Sue Michael of Colorado City, Colorado and Penny Mitchell and her husband Brent of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Also by one son; Gary Don Hutson and his wife Jeanne of Quincy, Michigan, one brother; Wandie Dale Hutson of South Fork, Colorado, one sister; Claudette Furgeson of Tulia, Texas, nine grandchildren; Jayson Hutson, Jacob Cary, Justin Cary, Jason Cary, Ricky Aleman, Corey Aleman, Missy Aleman, Hanna Noel Mitchell and Henry Albert Mitchell
