Tulia, Texas—Bill J. Rousseau, 78, of Tulia passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 in Amarillo. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 15, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. at Tulia Christian Fellowship with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Bill was born on June 8, 1930 in Lakeview, Texas to Charlie and Vera Rousseau. They moved to Tulia when Bill was young and he attended schools there. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved to fly and bought his first airplane when he was 16 years old. He farmed for several years, but because of his love of flying, he became a Crop Duster Pilot. He did aerial spraying until the early 1980’s. He also raised cattle and was a land trader among many other things. He was a very loving Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lubbock for several years and before that, he was a member of the Trinity Fellowship. Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Neta Jean Rousseau; his parents, Charlie and Vera Rousseau; one brother, Buddy Rousseau; and baby sister, Naomi Rousseau. Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Carter and husband Bob of Lubbock, June McHugh and husband Dennis of Amarillo, Sherry Ollinger and husband Duane of Ransom Canyon; one son, Bill Rousseau and wife Lauri of Tulia; two sisters, Flossie Payne and Nelda Elliff both of Tulia; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials B.S.A. Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79105.
