Barbara Ann Burnside, 75, of Midland, Texas passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 in Plainview where she had been a resident at Westridge Manor for the past three years. Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland with Rev. David Harwood officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Burnside was born August 20, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to Al and Josephine Bush Boring. She married Floyd William Burnside II on June 19, 1954 in Midland, Texas. He passed away in 1978. Mrs. Burnside was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and received a fellowship to the University of Illinois where she completed her masters degree in education. She was a teacher in the Midland Independent School District, Lubbock Independent School District and taught early childhood education at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Mrs. Burnside retired from teaching in June of 2000. Survivors include three daughters: Candace Keller and husband Michael of Plainview, Caryn Golden of Bedford and Tamie Neu and husband Steven of Midland; one granddaughter: Meredith Keller of Plainview and four grandsons: Michael Neu of Bryan, Matthew Neu of Carrolton, Adam Golden of Bedford and James Neu of Midland. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Memorial Foundation, 2200 W.
