Kathryn Raymond Brannan, 89, of Hale Center passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Rev. Kris Knippa officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Wilson, Texas at the Green Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Kathryn was born on April 23, 1925 in Wilson, Texas to Joseph and Lila Crowder. She graduated from Wilson High School and attended Draughn’s Business School. She married Richard Norris Raymond in May 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1984. She married R. Vernon Brannan in May 1996 and he preceded her in death in 2012. She farmed along side of her sons and daughter and son-in-law from 1968-1991 in Hale and Lynn Counties. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hale Center and a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Edward Crowder and a sister, Louise Billings. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Blount and husband Shane of Hale Center; two sons, Larry Dean Raymond of Ennis, TX, William Wayne Raymond and wife Ruth of Solvang, California; three sisters, Jimmie Ann Campbell of Clyde, TX, Elizabeth Benak of Lubbock, Lila Faye Waters and husband Charles of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Dwayne Raymond and wife Cassandra, Michael Raymond, Brandon Blount, Bradley Blount and wife Ashley; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock, or the Hale Center Senior Citizens.
