Edna Kitchens(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Edna Kitchens, 97, died Friday, September 12, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Tommy Ewing officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Edna was born on May 8, 1917 in Walters, Oklahoma to Joseph and Elfie Rash. She grew up in Walters and attended schools there. She married Lawrence Edward Kitchens on March 23, 1935 in Walters. She was a housewife and an accomplished seamstress, sewing for the public and her family. They lived in the Texas Panhandle several years and in Haskell, TX for over 30 years and she moved to Tulia in 2003. Her husband died June 7, 2001. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son: Sonny Kitchens and three brothers: Everett Rash, Earl Rash and Paul Rash. She is survived by her children: Shirley Smith of Tulia, TX, Larry Kitchens and wife Anita of Todd, NC, Ronnie Kitchens and wife Linda of Harper, TX, and Karen Stanaland and husband C.E. of Richmond, TX, her daughter-in-law: Sue Kitchens of Dumas, TX, her brother: Aaron Rash of Walters, OK, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren.
