Vigo Park, Texas –Dayle Culwell, 87, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home in Vigo Park. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the Vigo Park Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Wayside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Dayle was born February 2, 1927 in Wayside to John Ellis and Magye Pearl Culwell. He grew up there and attended Wayside Schools. He married Zula Shoemaker on September 2, 1948. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher at Vigo Park. He loved race horses and he was an avid sports fan watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids as often as he could. He is survived by his wife: Zula Culwell of Vigo Park, TX, one daughter: Dian Heidler of Corpus Christi, TX, two sons: Mike Culwell of Amarillo, TX and Greg Culwell of Tulia, Texas, one brother: John Culwell of Vigo Park, Texas, nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Tulia Dream Center in Tulia.
