Glorice Elaine Campbell Pirkle (Plainview)

Glorice Elaine Campbell Pirkle, 83, of Plainview, went to meet Jesus at 3:44 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006. A Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, at College Heights Baptist Church with Don Robertson officiating. A private graveside will be held prior to the memorial service. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Pirkle was born in Milam County, September 17, 1922 to Ed and Ida Campbell. She moved to Lynn County in 1934 and to Lubbock County in 1936. She graduated from Cooper High School of Lubbock in 1940. She married Homer M. Pirkle, January 25, 1941 in Leveland. The Pirkle’s lived in Sundown from 1941 to 1947. They moved to Edmonson in 1947 where they farmed. They moved into Plainview in 1982. Glorice and Homer were married almost 65 years. She owned and operated a ceramic shop and attended Wayland Baptist University for three years. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Homer M. Pirkle of Plainview; three daughters Carolyn Durham and husband Jimmy of Kress, Mary Lou Armstrong and husband Tommy of Dumas, Elaine Prince and husband Bill of Seminole; two sons Larry Pirkle and wife Janis of Dumas, Richard Pirkle and wife Doris of Lubbock; three sisters Geneva Wassom of Andrews, Nina Edwards of Roswell, Doris Mulkey of Roswell; two brothers Kenneth Campbell of Plainview, Lynn Campbell of Lorenzo; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great great grandson. Memorials maybe made to College Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 802 Quincy, Plainview, TX 79072 or to your favorite charity.
