Alice Miller Mitchell (Plainview)

Alice Miller Mitchell, 98, of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Alice was born on January 8, 1916 to Moochie & Jewel Miller in Rogers, Arkansas. She received a Bachelors degree from Oklahoma State University in Home Economics. She married Chester Mitchell in December of 1937 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker who was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church of Lockney. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother and sister in law, Emery & Pauline Miller; and one son in law, David Anderson. Alice is survived by one daughter, Shirley Anderson of Lubbock, TX; two sons, Warren Mitchell & wife Charlotte of Lockney, TX, and Neil Mitchell & wife Laura of Waco, TX; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two nieces.
