Richard Willborn (Plainview)

Richard Willborn, 70, of Plainview, died Thursday morning, October 2, 2008, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Rev. Jesse Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Willborn was born on October 25, 1937, in Brady, Texas to Nelson B. & Hildy Lou Willborn. He moved to Plainview at an early age and attended Plainview schools. He married Patsy Skirlock on June 21, 1957. After leaving active duty in the U.S. Air Force in March 1959, Richard returned with his wife to Plainview where he worked for Sherman’s Plainview Plumbing Company until its closure and then operated his own business, Richard Willborn Plumbing Company, until he retired. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Skirlock Willborn. In November 2001, he married Colleen West in Plainview. He is survived by his wife Colleen, daughter & son-in-law, Pamela & Richard Riggs of Naperville, IL; son & daughter-in-law, Richard Miles & Lisa Willborn of Lubbock, son & partner, Eric R. Willborn & David Anweiler of Dallas; two brothers & a sister-in-law, Rev. James & Carlene Willborn of Lubbock & Harvey Willborn of Plainview; two grandsons, Allen Lees of Midland & Nelson Willborn of Lubbock & two granddaughters, LeeAnn Lees of Lubbock & Kristen Riggs of Naperville, IL.
