David Vickers, 67, of Plainview, died Friday, October 3, 2008, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, from 6-7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Vickers was born on March 12, 1941, in Memphis, Texas to Dewey & Adalee Vickers. He married Mary King at Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia in 1967. They’ve lived in Plainview since 1970 and he was a school teacher for 25 years. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Mary Vickers of Plainview, a daughter, Cassandra Boren of Post; a son, Bryan Vickers of Clovis, NM; three brothers, Jerry Don Vickers of North Carolina, Samuel Vickers of Shallowater and Wayne Vickers of Tulia; a sister, Vickie Rice of Los Alamos, NM and five grandchildren.
