Willie Jean Powell (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Willie Jean Powell, 71, died Monday, October 6, 2014 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Willie Jean was born September 14, 1943 in Cameron, Texas to Rebert and Vera Lee Williams. Willie lived in Tulia in her late 1950’s where she later moved to Houston then moved to Cameron, Texas and later moved to Quanah, Texas where she was a member of the Church of Christ for many years and recently moved to Tulia to be close to her family. She loved and cared for her great - great nieces and nephews for several years. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Robert Williams, TJ Williams, Shayain Williams and Adrian Williams, one sister: Willie Pearl Lampkin. She is survived by her two sisters: Thelma Johnson of Tulia, Helen Williams of Tulia, two brothers: Henry Williams of Houston and Hewlett Douglas Williams. Her great-great nieces and nephews: Danielle Sillemon, Jerome Sillemon, Terrell Sillemon, Cynthia Yarbrough and Veronica Yarbrough.
