Tulia, Texas— Hazel Pofahl of Plainview, 74, died Monday, October 20, 2014 in Plainview. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 27, 2014 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Hazel Janette Anderson Pofahl was born July 27, 1940 to Dave and Bernice Anderson. She was raised at Vigo Park along with her big brother Walter Anderson and three younger sisters. She graduated from Tulia High School. Hazel married Charles Pofahl December 14, 1959. They had a daughter, Eva. Hazel was a Christian. She had attended church at First Baptist in Plainview. She was an avid reader and enjoyed books of many kinds. Ms. Pofahl worked for many years at Tulia Ford. Prior to that she worked for Edmonson Farmer’s Gin. She lived in Plainview and also in Tulia for a few years. She was an accountant and bookkeeper. Ms Pofahl is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles Pofahl and her brother: Walter Anderson. Ms. Pofahl is survived by her daughter: Eva Long of Amarillo, two grandsons: Robert Long and his wife Kendra of Houston, Desmond Long of Amarillo; two great-grandsons: Xander Long and Desmond Long, Jr., her three sisters: Donna Anderson and Wanda Gamble both of Amarillo and Rita McCollum and husband Mike of Tulia; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
