Plainview, Texas--Peggy J. Nance, 76, of Plainview, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 25, 2014 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Marrow, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Peggy was born on March 20, 1938 to Joseph and Elizabeth Hall in Cumbie, Texas. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1957. She married Joe Nance, the love of her life, on December 7, 1957 in Lone Star, Texas. Her family was most important to her and she filled her home with love and laughter. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy. She was a great listener and a friend to all. Even on her sickest days she was always more concerned about those around her than herself. Peggy truly exemplified the life of a godly woman in every way. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught preschool Sunday school for many years and served on the Friendship and Benevolence Meal Committee. She is preceded in death by her parents. Peggy is survived by her husband: Joe Nance of Plainview, three daughters: Jody Stamps and husband Rick of Lubbock, TX, Tonya James and husband Ross of Tulia, TX and Amy Handy and husband Mike of Crestview, Florida, one brother: Bill Hall and wife Pauline of Odessa, TX and six granddaughters: Sarah James and Shanna James, Sabrina Handy and Jamie Handy, Kary Brookman and Lyndee Jo Stamps.
