Tulia, Texas –Dennis A. Denton, 67, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church with Rusty Gray, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Dennis Allan Denton was born October 14, 1947 in Memphis, Texas to James Loran and Erma Lee Rice Denton. He grew up in Turkey and graduated from Turkey High School. He entered the US Army and served with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam Conflict. On returning home, he received an Associate Degree in Heating and Air Conditioning from Amarillo College. He has been with the Pantex Ordinance Plant in Amarillo for several years as a HVAC Engineer. His favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing, a pleasure passed on from his dad. Dennis married Karen Arnold of Turkey, Texas on June 9, 1970 in Hawaii. He later married Cynthia Ann Kleman on December 28, 1989 in Canyon. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended Tulia Christian Fellowship Church in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Durwood Denton and one sister: Sherry Denton Walker. His family includes his wife: Cindy Denton of Tulia, one daughter: Jean Ann Roper and husband Roy, Jr. of Dibble, OK, three sons: Roger Denton of Dumas, Lance Denton and wife Kimberlee of Amarillo and Chris Kleman of Kansas, one brother: Royce Denton and wife Nola of Goree, TX, eight grandchildren: Kelsey Carrasco and husband Chris of Tulia, Sequin Matlock of Dibble, OK, Arlisa Denton of Friona, Jodie Denton of Friona, Kai Denton of Amarillo, Destiny Fox of Amarillo, Bailey Kleman of Amarillo and Blake Kleman of Amarillo and one great grandson: Mason Fox of Amarillo.
