Tulia, Texas--Elwyn Vaughn, 82, died Friday, November 14, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Tulia with Mr. Gary Weaks officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Elwyn was born April 17, 1932 in Tulia to John Marshall and Lola Vaughn. He lived on a farm west of Tulia where he worked for his father and had a dairy for several years. He went to work for Elwood Bates (B&W Products) doing welding and shop work for ten years. In 1971 Elwyn and his family moved into town when he went to work for Inman’s Welding. In 1974 he started his own welding and machine shop with his sons. Elwyn gave his life to Jesus on February 22, 1953. He worked until his last day with his son Gary @ Gary Vaughn’s Farms. He was called farmer by all his family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Vaudine Vaughn and one daughter-in-law: Kathy Vaughn. He is survived by his one daughter: Dana K. Vaughn of Waxahachie, TX, four sons: Robert Marshall Vaughn and wife Kathy of Tulia, Gary Vaughn and wife Cheryl of Tulia, Kelly Vaughn of Tulia, and Alex Vaughn and wife Dana of Midlothian, TX; one step-son: Floyd Ray Flow and wife Susan of Amarillo, two brothers: Roy Vaughn of Tulia and Boyd Vaughn of Amarillo, one sister: Joann Thatcher of Amarillo, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
