Opal Lena Bice (Tulia)

Opal L. Bice, 91, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Travis LaDuke, retired Baptist minister officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Opal was born March 31, 1914 in Wheeler County, Texas. She moved to Swisher County in 1925. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1933. She married Johnny Woodrow Bice on July 15, 1934 in Kress. They moved to Briscoe County in 1934 and lived there until 1964 when they moved back to Swisher County. Mr. Bice died February 27, 1989. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia, a member of the Swisher County Historical Society and the Hi-Plains Gem and Mineral Society. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include; one daughter; Jeanette Reilman of Dalhart, Texas, 9 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Edwin Bice and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
