Carl J. Bontke (Plainview)

Carl J. Bontke, 76, of Plainview, Texas passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Carl John Bontke at 3PM on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Heckman officiating. Carl was born April 25th, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to John Frank Bontke and Gertrude Marie Eifert. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1956. He served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1958 and served on the USS Wilkes. In addition he was a member of the Color Guard. He was a longtime farmer in the community. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Lawrence P. Bontke from Lubbock; a sister Viola. G Smith from Temple, Tx. Survivors include his loving wife, Dana Jo Hughes Bontke; three kids, Carla Moore and her husband Ricky of San Angelo, TX. Jana Kelley and her husband Blake of Celina, Tx; and a son Justin Bontke of Dallas, TX and three wonderful grandchildren; Mikayla Moore, Madison Kelley, and Morgan Kelley. The family would like to thank all the wonderful, loving caregivers at Interim Hospice and the amazing staff at the Santa Fe House.
