Tulia, Texas--Gloria Zapata, 57, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2014 in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Gloria was born March 13, 1957 in Plainview, Texas to Ynes and Mercedes Zapata. She lived in Tulia most of her life and raised her family being a mother and father to her children. Gloria loved to cook, play bingo and especially loved all her family members. She is preceded in death by her father: Ynes Zapata, her son: Raymond Garcia, her brother: Jesus Zapata. She is survived her mother: Mercedes Zapata; three daughters: Tanya Lisa Martinez, Jessica Rachel Harris and Vanessa D. Harris; eight sons: Reynold Martinez, Michael Paul Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Louis Martinez, Valentino Lee Garcia, Gabriel Martinez, Roger Martinez and Jeffrey Luciano Harris; four brothers: Raoul Zapata, David Zapata, Jose Ynes Zapata and Daniel Zapata; three sisters: Alicia Menchaca, Connie Zapata and Silvia Mata; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and her husband: Guadalupe Martinez.
