Louie Kitchens (Plainview)

Louie Kitchens, 89, of Silverton, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Sera Rose in Plainview. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Silverton Cemetery with Rev. Rance Young, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Silverton, officiating. Local arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Kitchens was born on November 26, 1916 in Briscoe County to John Brandon and Alpha Edwards Kitchens. He grew up and attended grade school in the Wallace Community. He graduated from Silverton High School in 1933 and attended one year at Texas Tech University. He started farming in 1934 in Silverton area. Mr. Kitchens married Ruby Lee Steele in Briscoe County, December 22, 1940. Ruby passed away February 8, 1997. He is survived by one son Joe Kitchens and wife Della of Silverton; six grandchildren Janna Michelle Beesinger, Heather Dianne Davis, Joe Brandon Kitchens, Rebecca Ballou, Robert Newburn, Rebecca Jennings; 13 great grandchildren.
