Dr. Joe N. Stockett, 58, of Plainview passed away at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Covenant Hospital Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia, Texas with Rev. Rob Lindley officiating. Interment will follow in Wayside Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Dr. Stockett was born on April 3, 1947 in Tulia, Texas to Roy and Dorothy Stockett. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1965 and from Texas A&M in 1971. He married Kim Duong on July 28, 1982 in Lubbock, Texas. He owned and operated Town & Country Animal Clinic in Plainview for the past 31 years. He was involved in the Plainview Humane Society and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tulia. He is survived by his wife Kim of Plainview, three daughters: Rachel Hicks, Karen Mahan and Jackie Fulton & husband Debs; two sons: Paul Mahan & wife Dana and Jimmy Mahan & wife Tina; his mother: Dorothy Stockett; one brother: James Stockett & wife Jane; one sister: Nita Hooper and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Roy Stockett and one brother John Roy Stockett. Memorials may be made to Make A Wish Foundation 411 South Fillmore Amarillo, TX 79101. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia.
