Dale C. Maxwell (Plainview)

Dale C. Maxwell, 89, died on December 29, 2014 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Heckmann officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the church from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Dale was born June 1, 1925 in Plainview, Texas to Jack L. & Lorene Daffern Maxwell. He married Lillie Harms on June 25, 1950 in Littlefield, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 25, 2006. He graduated from Llano High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Maxwell farmed in the Sudan and Mayfield communities for several years. He retired from Atmos Energy and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plainview. Mr. Maxwell had a great sense of humor, a wonderful smile and loved to read and tell stories. He took very special care of his wife during her illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers. Dale is survived by one daughter: Janice Ray and husband Mike of Amarillo; one son: Gary Maxwell & wife Ethel of Amarillo; one sister: Jackie Thompson; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to Helen Henckel for her wonderful care of Dad for three years and to the Ware Memorial Care Center physicians and staff for their kind and compassionate care. Thank you for loving him as your own. We the family appreciate all you did for him. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church building fund, 901 Oakland Street, Plainview, TX 79072.
