Maria Puente (Plainview)

Maria Puente, 95, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Chaplain, Oscar Chavez officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Maria was born on November 19, 1919 to Zacarias & Felicitas Puente. She grew up in Mexico before moving to Texas then California. While in California she worked in food processing plant for many years. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Church. Later she returned to Texas. She is preceded in death by one son, Miguel Angel Lara. She is survived by one daughter, Hortencia Rodriguez of Plainview, TX; four sons, Pedro Covarrubias of Brownsville, TX, Benjamin Mata of Mexico, Adan Covarrubias of Brownsville, TX, and Felix Lara of North Dakota; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
