Peter Hernandez(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas –Peter S. Hernandez, 61, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Peter was born on May 11, 1953 in Cleburn, Texas to Peter and Guadalupe Hernandez. He grew up in South Texas. He served in the US Navy for four years. He married Adelaida Meza on October 30, 1992 in Earth. He was a police officer in Kermit, Earth and Bovina where he was the Bovina Police Chief. He also was a truck driver hauling bulls. He moved to Silverton in 2012. He is survived by his wife: Adelaida Hernandez of Silverton, one son: Martin Meza of Channing, NY, five daughters: Monica Segovia of Tulia, Melissa Arizmendi of Dimmitt, Karen Hernandez of Hale Center, Kimberly Nieto of Tulia and Kelly Garcia of Abilene, five sisters; Joyce Martinez of Hale Center, Elida Gonzales of Earth, Aurora Uresta of Hereford, Wendy Uresta of Hereford and Wanda Siladio of Hereford, eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
