Jose Vega (Plainview)

Jose Vega, 93, of Plainview passed away at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at his residence in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Bishop Placido Rodriguez, officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Vega was born on December 11, 1912 to Manuel and Maria Vega. He married Epifania Vasquez on March 13, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Vega was a farmer and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Epifania Vega; seven daughters: Felicita Vega of Canyon, TX, Amelia Sanchez of Plainview, TX, Teresa Machala of Dallas, TX, Juana Vega of Canyon, TX, Isabel Vega of Amarillo, TX, Maria F. Smith of Amarillo, TX and Beatrice Vega of Austin, TX; four sons: Jose Vega, Jr. of Plainview, TX, Manuel Vega of Canyon, TX, Carlos Vega of Ringgold, GA and Alberto Vega of Plainview, TX; one sister: Isabel Saucedo of Morelia, Mexico. Seventeen Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren.
