Martin Basaldua, Sr.(Tuia)

Tulia, Texas—Martin Basaldua, Sr., 44, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Martin was born August 18, 1970 in Tulia to Abel and Anita Basaldua, Sr. He grew up here and attended schools here. He worked for D&A Manufacturing and also for Fisher Pump Service. He loved playing softball. He is preceded in death by his parents: Abel and Anita Basaldua. He is survived by two sons: Steven Basaldua of Tulia and Martin Basaldua, Jr. of Tulia, four sisters: Dora Salazar and husband Ralph of Tulia, Olivia Contreras and husband Adolf of Tulia, Rosalinda Subealdea and husband Eloy of Tulia and Delia Cisneros and husband Roy of Plainview, three brothers: Abel Basaldua, Jr. and wife Anita of Tulia, Henry Basaldua and wife Abby of Tulia and Roger Basaldua and wife Sarah of Midland and one grandson: Yrijah Ray Basaldua.
