Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Mr. Rhoads was born November 4, 1931 in Wilson, Texas to Roland and Alpha Rhoads. He served in the US Army in Corps of Combat Engineers. He married Shirley Ann Bartley on January 17, 1952 in Wilson. He was involved in cattle ranching and farming. He also worked for Farm Bureau Insurance. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. He attended Christ Lutheran Church of Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents; Roland and Alpha Rhoads, two sisters; Marjorie Milliken and Francis Noble and one brother; Pete Rhoads. He is survived by his wife; Shirley Rhoads of the home, his children; Stephen Rhoads of Tulia and close family friend Pam Gibson of Amarillo, Mike Rhoads and wife Sara of Amarillo, one sister; Hazel Honaker of Abilene, one brother; Joe Rhoads of Slaton, his grandchildren; Justina Lowry and husband Jacob of Overland Park, Kansas, Jenny Rhoads of Amarillo, David Rhoads of Plainview, Chance Cozbey of Amarillo, his great granddaughter; Olivia Lowry of Overland Park, Kansas, many nieces and nephews and amazing friends. A special heartfelt “Thank you” goes to the Swisher Home Health care givers and the hospice nurses and caregivers; Aleena, April, Cammi, Anita, Marci, Gale, Nancy, Emily and all the other precious caregivers.
