Tulia, Texas—Melanie Smith, 32, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Melanie was born on April 19, 1982 in Plainview. She grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia Schools and received her GED in 1999. She attended Southern University. She is preceded in death by her grandmothers: Betty Cargill and Sue Smith. Her family includes her parents: Debra and Brad Sharp of Tulia and Jimmy and Debbie Smith of Grandby, Missouri, five sisters: Sheree Britten and husband Billy of Tulia, Brittany Sturgess and husband Cody of Tulia, Whitney Tomblin and husband Dusty of Tulia, Ashley Summers and husband Tim of Grandby, Missouri and Amber Reed and husband Neko of Grandby, Missouri, her grandparents: Fred and Mary Ann Cargill of Tulia and Amy Sharp of Tulia, her nieces and nephews: Lane Britten, Lexi Britten, Pecos Bradley, Rhett Tomblin, Flint Tomblin, Tinathan Summers and Lane Reed.
