Ruby Nell Nichols (Plainview)

Ruby Nichols, 90, of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Kornerstone Chapel with Rev. Richard Dickerson, of First Baptist Church in Stonewall, OK officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Nichols was born November 28, 1924 in Ballinger, TX to WilliamWilber and Una Culbert Johnson. She was the sixth of ten children. She accepted the Lord and was baptized in Broadway Church of Christ, Lubbock, TX and was a member of the Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ in Plainview. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, a homemaker and businesswoman. She was involved in retail sales and was a partner in a cotton brokerage firm. She married Edwin G. Nichols on January 31, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cecilia White, a granddaughter, Brittnie Welch, her parents and eight brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ed Nichols, Jr. of Amarillo, Mark Nichols and his wife Margi of Lockhart and a daughter Sandi Ray of Plainview, a sister, Opal Conn of Drain, OR, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
