Teresa Bell Sutton was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Tuesday February 24, 2015. Teresa was born on December 19, 1933 in Silverton to Edwin and Lorene Crass. She attended school for two years at the Francis community school before transferring to Silverton where she graduated in 1950. Teresa went on to attend Lippert’s Business College in Plainview and met and married Jack Sutton on June 30, 1951. They were married for 48 years until September 18, 1999 when Jack went on before her. Teresa loved the Lord from a very young age and knew that her eternal home was one far better than what she had on this earth. She taught children’s Bible class and was involved in Ladies Bible class and church hospitality for many years at both Silverton Church of Christ and Kress Church of Christ. She always made it a priority to be involved in church and to be present at every opportunity. Teresa was proud to be a farmer's wife and homemaker and was very involved in her community for many years. She supported Jack in his farming career until his retirement and enjoyed the fun times they spent with friends playing Western Swing music. It was always important to her to be involved with the activities her children participated in. She was a 4-H leader for many years and was active in Home Demonstration Club, Study Club and the Briscoe County Historical Society. Teresa was a loving Mother and Nana and was so happy to be able to attend any activity or sporting event in which her children or grandchildren were participating. She had a servant’s heart and always put others before herself. She truly enjoyed “serving” her family as well as other friends and neighbors in the community. Teresa worked for The Tye Company in Lockney, Texas from 1977 to 1995 and enjoyed the many friendships she made during that stage of her life as well. She retired in 1995 when Jack’s health declined. Teresa leaves behind a host of family and friends including her children, Cynthia & Don Glenn of Amarillo, Rhonda & Mike McGinn of Humble, Melinda & Mitchell Stockton of Lubbock. Teresa had 7 grandchildren including Ashley Glenn of North Richland Hills, Holly Rivera of Cordell, Oklahoma, Matt McGinn of Spring, Stephanie Ware of Porter, Brandon McGinn of Humble and Shea and Presley Stockton of Lubbock. Teresa was also Nana to 9 great grandchildren including Kolby, Kameron and Kadon Rivera, Allison McGinn, Kennedy Ware, Jade, Deegan and Logan McGinn and Reid Glenn. Services will be held at the Kress Church of Christ on Saturday February 28 at 1:00 p.m. with burial following at the Silverton Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends to a reception at the Silverton Church of Christ immediately following the burial. The visitation will be from Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Home in Tulia. Thanks to the many friends and caretakers for all of the love and support of Teresa in recent months. We appreciate it so much! The family suggests memorials to the Silverton Cemetery Association or the Children’s Home of Lubbock.
