George "Sonny" Cornett (Plainview)

George “Sonny” Cornett, 74 passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Rev. Carol Green officiating. Interment will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cornett was born March 21, 1940 in Munday, Texas to Junior Braxton & Elma Maxine Cornett. He was a long time resident of Hale Center and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hale Center. Mr. Cornett is survived by four daughters: Brenda Rodriguez & husband Johnny of Wolfforth, Shana Strange & husband Dwain of Kress, Charlotte Jackson of Plainview and Mandy Cornett of Plainview; one son: Chris Cornett & wife Nancy of Dexter, Missouri; two sisters: Jeanette Steen of Hale Center and Nell Rogers of Hale Center and nine grandchildren.
