Maria Villagomez (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Maria Villagomez, 72, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Tulia. A funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2015 at The Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Arturo officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Tulia Kornerstone Chapel. Maria was born February 15, 1943 in San Nicholas, Michoacán Mexico to Uvaldo and Salud Lemus. She married Ysidro Villagomez in 1960. She came to Tulia in 1999 to live close all her children. She enjoyed dancing, making tortillas and enjoyed helping anyone who needed making food. On March 16, 2011 they renewed their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary. She enjoyed life to fullest and was kind, gentle to anyone. She is preceded in death by her parents: Uvaldo and Salud Lemus; three sons: Israel Villagomez, Alfredo Villagomez and Alfredo Villagomez II; one brother: Jose Luis Lemus. She is survived by her husband: Ysidro Villagomez; five daughters: Carmen Villagomez, Salud Avila Villagomez, Antonia Villagomez,Chayo Villagomez, Maricella Nieto Villagomez; three sons: Javier Villagomez, Jose Luis Villagomez, Rafael Villagomez; one sister: Guadalupe Lemus; 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
